I'm Dr. Angelique Barbara, founder of Holistic Animal Studies. My passion is helping animal lovers and professionals develop the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals.
With an educational background in veterinary science, veterinary pathobiology, and chiropractic, combined with a lifetime of hands-on experience, I believe that truly effective animal care begins with understanding the whole animal.

I've spent my life learning from animals, working with them, and exploring ways to improve their comfort, movement, and overall well-being.
My academic background in veterinary science, veterinary pathobiology, and chiropractic gives me a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, and the interconnected systems of the body. Combined with decades of hands-on experience, it shapes how I teach every course.
As the developer of Animal Neuromyofascial Release (ANMR) and the founder of Holistic Animal Studies, I believe that great practitioners aren't simply taught what to do. They're taught how to observe, evaluate, think critically, and adapt to the individual animal.

Welcome to Angel's Animal Sanctuary
Beyond my work as an educator and practitioner, one of the greatest joys of my life is caring for the animals who call Angel's Animal Sanctuary home.
Our sanctuary provides a loving, peaceful home for a diverse family of rescued and special-needs animals, including horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats, and many other wonderful souls.
Many of our residents are seniors, have unique medical or physical needs, or simply needed someone willing to give them another chance. Here, they are valued as individuals and given the care, respect, and companionship they deserve.
The sanctuary is also a constant reminder of why education matters. Every animal teaches us something about patience, trust, resilience, and the importance of looking beyond the obvious.
The lessons I learn from caring for these animals influence the way I teach, the courses I develop, and the therapeutic approaches I share with students around the world.
